In
the spirit of sharing things that are sweet and good, I offer you the recipe
shown below, which is one of my very favorites. It is a beautifully simple
syrup made from buttermilk, which you can prepare in 15 minutes on a holiday
morning. The syrup turns lovely brown without any fancy procedures, and
tastes like milky caramel - reminiscent of dulce
de leche.
Serve it over pancakes, waffles, fritters, french toast, bread pudding or ice cream; dip cookies or bread in it; or gobble it with a spoon. I hope you and yours will love this recipe as much as I and mine do. Enjoy it in good health! |
